Obituary

With great sorrow, we announce the recent death of Bruce Mauldin. Bruce was born in March of 1968, to Jack and Mary Mauldin in Marietta, GA. He died on June 2, 2026, due to complications from cancer. He was 58 years old.

Bruce graduated in 1986 from TMI Academy in Sweetwater, TN. After graduation, he spent time working in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Atlanta, GA. He eventually settled in Dalton, GA, his childhood home, where he worked primarily in the trucking industry.

Bruce is survived by his son, Michael Mauldin; sister, Susan Mauldin Means (Phillip); uncle, Kelly Caldwell (Flora); cousins, Jim Caldwell (Anna), Matt Everett (Allison), and Julia Everett (Nick). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Caldwell Mauldin; father Jack Mauldin; and sister, Lori Mauldin. To his family and friends who supported him these past weeks, we say a profound thank you for your outpouring of love and care. To the staff of Hamilton Medical Center, we are in awe of your professional care and boundless compassion.

In accordance with Bruce’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, his family invites friends and loved ones to join them on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Crown View Baptist Church, 502 W. Tyler Street, Dalton, GA. This will be just a casual gathering to celebrate Bruce’s life and honor his memory. Please bring your favorite stories and memories to share in a relaxed and celebratory setting.

Also, per Bruce’s wishes, his body has been cremated and his ashes will be spread at a later date at one of his favorite fishing holes. Instead of flowers, we encourage anyone wishing to honor Bruce’s life and memory to consider making a donation to the Georgia Nurses Foundation (georgianurses.nursingnetwork.com) or to a charity of your own choosing.
