Obituary

Cecilia Jane Johnson, 63, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully from natural causes on August 1, 2026.

Cecilia dedicated much of her working life to caring for children as a school bus driver and bus aide. She was known for her kindness, patience, and genuine love for every child who stepped onto her bus. To many, she was more than a driver—she was a comforting and familiar face who made each day a little brighter.

Above all else, Cecilia treasured her family. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma,” and she adored spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dogs, who were constant companions throughout her life.

She found happiness in DIY projects, loved horses, and enjoyed watching western shows and movies. Music also held a special place in her heart, and one of her favorite songs was “Stroll Over Heaven with You” by The Inspirations, a song that brought her comfort and reflected her faith and hope.

Cecilia is survived by her sister, Elaine Johnson-Lewis; her daughters, Stella Jane Mabala and Mary Danielle Owens; her son-in-law, Eric Mabala; and her cherished grandchildren, Casey Lee Herring and his wife, Brianna Reed, and Kadence Jane Allen. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, former coworkers, and countless children whose lives she touched through her years of service.

Cecilia will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she shared so freely with others. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A small family gathering to celebrate Cecilia’s life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.

For those who have asked how they can help the family during this time, contributions are greatly appreciated. If you would like to assist with final expenses or support the family, donations may be sent via Cash App to $ragdoll63. Your kindness and generosity are sincerely appreciated.
