2 Corinthians 5:8

Claude Thomas, 76, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1:45 p.m. peacefully in his home in Chatsworth Georgia. Claude was an incredibly grateful and loving man, and fun to be around. Claude was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Minda Thomas of Oneida, Tennessee; brother-in-law, James Ward; brothers, Loy Thomas Jr. and Wade "Tater" Thomas; nephews, Eddie Adcox, Eric A. Harness, and Joe R. Paul; and niece, Katherine (Kacky) Bauswell.

Claude is survived by his loving wife, Libby Smith Thomas; children, Jason and Jeannie Thomas, Wellington and Kim Thomas, Casie and David Walters, Tyler and Amber Smith, and Kinna Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Myra Della Ward, Gail and Ross Perri, Vicki and Keith Adcox, Ruth and Bobby Greenlee, and Letha and Eddie Thomas; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ethan J. and Hannah Dautel, Ivan and Allistair, Dekota and Chesney Thomas, Liam Rains, Jett Johnson, Zoe Walters, Levi Walters, Evan Thomas, Genevieve Thomas, Malakhi Smith, Khamyle Smith, Kymber Smith, Chloe King, Autum Grace (Stormy) Smith, Eric Smith, Shadow Rayne Smith; nieces and nephews, James and Debra Ward, Rose and Shawn House, Nichole Perri, Rossie Perri, Myrandia and Chris Trabbic, Sonya and Marc Meadows, Vanessa Paul, Sara and Rob Pierce, James Thomas, Josh Thomas, Tiffenie Baker, Shane Jackson, Josiah Paul, Gavin Pierce, Rhiannon Jackson, Valerie Phillips and Aiden Flood.

Claude also has several friends, nieces, nephews, and other family members who survive him.
