Danny Harold
Ensley, Sr.
Jan 8, 1953 — Sep 5, 2026
Chatsworth
Danny Harold Ensley, Sr., 73, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Danny is survived by his son, Danny Ensley, Jr. (Lisa); daughters, Selena Ensley Grant (James) and Melissa Burke; grandchildren, Daniel Ensley, Dylan Ensley, Dakota Hanes, Mason Floyd, Kristain Edwards, and Megan Ensley; great-grandchildren, Emily Hanes and Gracie Edwards; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Briggs (Roger) and Brenda Deal (Randy); sister, Barbara Ensley; and brother, James Ensley, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie Ensley, Sr.; siblings, Carl Rice, Edith Lawson, Charles Ensley, and Sylvia Welch; along with other beloved family members.
Danny was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family, his community, and his craft. As a longtime business owner, he spent many years operating his construction company, where he could often be found behind the controls of his bulldozer or backhoe. He graded land for homes, installed septic systems, hauled gravel, dug ponds, and took great pride in serving the people of his community. Through his work, Danny became far more than a contractor — he became someone his neighbors could rely on, no matter the need. His family extends heartfelt gratitude to the community for the years of support, friendship, and trust shown to Danny and his business. His greatest legacy will not be measured by the work of his hands, but by the love, loyalty, and kindness he poured into the people around him.
Danny’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hamilton Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care and support throughout his illness. Additional gratitude is extended to Carlton’s Pharmacy for their consistent dedication in preparing his medications, and to the Biscuit Box for providing his breakfast each morning — a gesture that nourished not only his body but also his heart, reminding him of the home-cooked meals his mother lovingly prepared during his childhood. The family also acknowledges the outstanding medical care provided by Dr. Sandvi, Dr. Sanicola, Dr. Minor, and Dr. Ragiv Verma, and offers many thanks to this team of physicians.
Danny’s family and friends gathered at his daughter’s home to remember and celebrate his life. His cremains will be interred on his cherished family property, where his loved ones also reside. There is something profoundly meaningful in knowing that Danny will remain at home, surrounded forever by the land and the family he treasured so much.
Dad, you were the strongest man we have ever known. Your hands built so much, but your heart built our family. Thank you for every sacrifice, every lesson, every hug, every laugh, every tear, and every moment you gave us. Love….Your Children!
