Debora Carol Free, lovingly known by many as Debby, passed away peacefully at her residence in Tunnel Hill on August 10, 2026, at the age of 70. Her family and friends now gently hold her memory—a guiding light that touched all who knew her.

Born on June 5, 1956, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Debby spent her life carving out a legacy of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. From her earliest days in Mississippi to her later years in Georgia, she was a steady source of love and comfort, beloved by everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Debby cherished her family above all. Her sister, Mary Ann Newton and her husband, Donny, and brother-in-law, Marvin Gober, remain to remember the many treasured moments and unbreakable bonds they shared. She held special pride and deep affection for her niece and nephews, who now carry forward her legacy of love.

Debby’s life was also gently entwined with beautiful memories of those who went before her. She was the cherished daughter of Glenn and Jean Williams Free and loving sister to Glenda Gober and Sharon Easley. Though deeply missed, their memories and spirits were never far from Debby’s heart. The measure of Debora’s life is found in the impact she left on hearts shaped by her love and the example she set of compassion and quiet resilience. At her request, there will be no formal services held.
