Dennis Allen Baynes, 64, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Baynes and Jane Goswick, and his cousin and best friend, Ray Ledford.

Dennis was a proud Georgian and an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs. He also had a lifelong love of classic rock, and music remained one of the things he enjoyed most over the years.

Dennis is survived by his four daughters, Teresa Baynes, Amanda Baynes, Lacey Baynes Mathis, and Kayleigh Holliday; his sister, Patricia Baynes; his brother, David Baynes (Cathy); grandchildren, Ethan Bean, Jasmine Holt, Daniel Holt, Mataya Beck, Mikey Beck, Jr., Zavon Beck, and other grandchildren; and special friends, Diane Scott and Chris Langston. Great-grandchildren, cousins, and extended family also survive.
 
Dennis was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. His memory will live on through his family, the stories they share, the music and teams that bring him to mind, and the many memories made throughout his life.

One thing Dennis rarely said was “goodbye.” Instead, he would say, “See you later,” because he never wanted a goodbye to be the last one. Those simple words hold an even deeper meaning for his family now. For those who loved him, this isn’t goodbye—it’s simply, “See you later.”

A memorial service honoring Dennis’s life will be held at a later date.
