Dessie Mae Lowe Braden, age 66, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026.

Dessie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She would give to others even when it meant going without herself. Her generous heart, gentle spirit, and unconditional love for her family will be deeply missed.

Dessie worked as a truck driver for 25 years, a career she truly enjoyed. She was proud of the time she spent on the road and the people and experiences that came with it.

Above all else, Dessie loved her family. She loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart, and her family was the most important part of her life. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Dessie is survived by her sons, Scott Carroll, Travis Carroll, and Kevin Carroll; daughters, Jennifer Carroll and Belinda Marlow Hernandez (Rogelio); 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lonas Lowe (Lodena) and Johnny Lowe (Jody); sister, Parthina Perry (Ray); many other special nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odas and Wanda Lowe; her son, Layton Levonne Carroll; grandchildren, Dustin Carroll and Madison Carroll; brothers, Kendal, Roger, David, Carl, Oscar, and James Lowe; sisters, Lois Byrge, Faye Heath, and Karen Aleshire; and special friends, Layton Carroll, David Marlow and Robert Lamb.

Dessie’s wish was to be cremated and remembered with a small memorial service surrounded by her family. In keeping with her wishes, her family will gather privately to honor her life and celebrate the woman, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend she was.

Though she is no longer with us, Dessie’s kindness, love, and generous spirit will live on through the many lives she touched. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
