Dwight Moody (Butch) Sanford, 69, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, after a lengthy illness at Advent Redmond Hospital in Rome, GA. Formerly of Cortland, NY, Butch was the son of the late Maurice and Dorita Sanford. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ted Sanford, and his sister, Darleen Sanford.

Butch is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Sanford; son, Ted-Michael (Jessica) Sanford; daughter, Alysia Sanford; stepchildren, Joseph Abdallah (Cathia Kempa), William Abdallah (Alicia Cass), sister, Doreen Sanford; and, brother, David Sanford. Butch also is survived by his many grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Butch Sanford will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 401 Peter Street, Calhoun, GA. Burial will follow at a later date in Groton, NY.
