Mary Ruth White, 71, of LaFayette, GA passed away on July 15, 2026, at PruittHealth LaFayette. She was born in Rome, GA and spent much of her life in Summerville, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby James White; parents, Horace and Willie May Meeler; son, James White; and granddaughter, Tiffany White. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie (Angela) Meeler, Ricky (Camilla) Meeler, and Eric (Dawn) Meeler; her grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Matt Meeler, Nikki (Brian) Wright, Addison Meeler, Hunter (Leah) Meeler, and Heaven Meeler; and three (3) sisters, Jackie, Kathy, and Dean.

“Ruth” was the backbone of her family—from raising her sons to giving her grandchildren everything she could. “Mawmaw” was a crafty person. She especially enjoyed creating scrapbooks with her grandchildren when they were young. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cross stitching. She had a great love for lighthouses, thinking they were the most beautiful creations in the world. She collected many lighthouses in her lifetime. Her grandchildren all agree that they “could not be where they were today without their Mawmaw.” She will be so deeply missed.
