Thomas “Paul” Belcher Jr., age 77, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Chatsworth, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Wanda Belcher.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in law, Stephanie and Danny Nuckolls; son and daughter-in-law, Chip and Lainie Belcher; grandchildren, Brannon, Mattie and Harper Nuckolls, Ruby and Wyatt Belcher; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Harold Cotter; nephew, Michael Swann; sister and brother-in-law, Dale and Mike Cain; and special cousins.
A very proud United States Marine veteran, Paul served his country during the Vietnam War as a sniper, receiving a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/palm, Vietnam Service Medal w/*1, Combat Action Ribbon, and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. Following his honorable discharge, he went back to college and completed his degree from Auburn University.
Paul owned and operated a successful contracting business for the majority of his life. He had a strong work ethic, very detailed oriented, and took great pride in his work. He retired and moved to The Villages, FL where he enjoyed being the “neighborhood contractor” for friends and neighbors. Paul enjoyed helping others and staying busy. His other passions included NASCAR racing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and he simply loved being at the beach. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church At The Villages.
A committal service with Military Honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
