A Direct (Simple) Cremation includes the following steps:

• Taking your loved one into our care within a 60-mile radius of Chatsworth, GA. If outside of this distance, a small fee will be added to your cost.

• An arrangement conference with our professional staff. This conference can be held in person, online, or by telephone.



• A cardboard cremation casket (More options are available).

• The cremation process is done in our on-site crematory. A family viewing area for the cremation process is available upon request.

• Completion of all paperwork for the receipt of certified copies of death certificates.

• The delivery of cremains to the family. The family will be notified when cremains are ready to be picked up from the crematory. If cremains need to be mailed, a small fee will be added.

STEP 1

If your loved one has passed, notify the hospital, hospice, care facility nurse, or coroner that you wish for North Georgia Cremations to handle the arrangements. Except in coroner cases, this can be arranged ahead of time. Have them contact us at (706) 971-2036 (available 24/7). We will respond promptly once we receive official notification. While families may reach out to us, we require authorization from the appropriate personnel for removal.

STEP 2

A member of our professional staff will contact you within hours of receiving your loved one. An arrangement conference will be scheduled with the designated family member(s) and our staff. This can be conducted by phone, online, or in person. (We are also available for prearrangement conferences.)

STEP 3

Once all paperwork and permission forms are completed and properly filed, the cremation process can proceed.

STEP 4

Once the cremation is complete, the cremains are placed in a black, rigid plastic container. The family will then be notified when the cremains are ready for pickup at the crematory. Depending on the family's preference, the cremains can be picked up, mailed, or another method of delivery can be arranged. If the cremains are mailed, a small fee will be added to the total cost.

RETURN OF THE REMAINS

After the cremation is completed, you have the option to collect the cremated remains from our office. If preferred, we can also arrange for shipping or hand-delivery to return the remains to you, with an additional fee.
