OUR STORY

Lee Ballew, owner and operator of North Georgia Cremations, has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the Northwest Georgia area serving families throughout Northwest Georgia for over 30 years. In 2022, Lee opened North Georgia Trade Services in Chatsworth to provide crematory services for local funeral homes throughout Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga and the surrounding areas. With successful relationships established within these communities, Lee decided to provide additional services for many families by providing direct (simple) cremation services at the lowest price in our area. So, in 2025 North Georgia Cremations began serving families who are in need.

The goal and vision of North Georgia Cremations focuses on being an affordable alternative to the traditional funeral and cremation model by providing families and individuals with cost-effective and creative ways to celebrate the life of their loved one. Matching compassion and care along with a highly professional staff we assure families that they will be our priority through the difficult time of a loved one’s passing. 

A native of Chatsworth, GA and a graduate of Murray County High School, Lee married the former Kendra Hill (of Dalton) in 1996. Though Kendra retired from the Whitfield County School System after thirty (30) years of teaching, she continues to teach on a professional part-time contract. Lee and Kendra have three children: Kenlee, Brogen, and Buc. The Ballew family are members of First Baptist Church of Tunnel Hill.

After successfully establishing North Georgia Trade Services in 2022 to provide cremation services for local funeral homes, Lee saw a growing need for affordable, direct cremation services. In 2025, he expanded his mission by founding North Georgia Cremations, ensuring families have access to simple, dignified, and cost-effective cremation options.
